We do it because we have found that the main reason organisations do not use project management (or fail to use it correctly) is because they don't understand what it is. We hope that by learning something about it you will want to learn more and benefit from our experienced consultants.

If you have been given a project to manage and you are unfamiliar with the processes and skills involved then these articles should be of some assistance to you. If your organisation already uses project management then you should also seek advice from those people who have already managed projects.

As with any other branch of life there are people with greater and lesser aptitude for project management. But project managers are not born they are made by training and experience.

Time isn't everything

Managing projects is not just about managing tasks and time . It's also about managing people (suppliers, your managers and co-workers) with different skills and perceptions from different departments who have been brought together to forge a team that will do something unusual or even exceptional.
